Relight Your Body | Nov-Ember Challenge

It’s where everything you’ve cleared, softened, and realigned in the past three weeks settles into the body – through rest, rhythm, and gentle reconnection. Your body has been carrying you through all the changes. The quiet shifts, the reflection, the clearing out. Now it’s time to honor it by returning home to yourself.

This week isn’t about resolutions, restrictions, or reinventing yourself. It’s about returning home to your physical self with tenderness. Relighting your body means finding energy in movement, grounding in stillness, and trust in what your body already knows. When we care for the body, the mind follows; when we rest the body, the spirit glows again.

Here are the last 7 actions in this month challenge that you can do this upcoming week to relight your body feeling with minimal to no added effort on your part.

Set a Feel-Good Routine

In my book, routines are needed and should be cherished. Don’t make this too complicated. It doesn’t have to be a routine complete with military discipline. Some days, you’ll crush, others you won’t and that’s okay. The way you set up your day with the things you need, love, and want; the better your days will go.

Start first with your mornings. Ease into your day with intention. Perhaps it’s drinking water before coffee. Maybe it’s working out before the world wakes up. (You’re my hero if you do this…) For me, it’s getting dressed that signals that I’m ready to take on the day.

And evenings… what’s one thing you can do at night that will be solely for you? End your day winding down and ending on a good note. It can be as simple as a 5 minute meditation before drifting off or washing + re-hydrating your face. Find 2 things this week (morning + evening) that could can do intentionally, slowly, and for you only.

Do Something New

We have to be careful not to be entrenched too much in our routine by adding some newness every now and again. Nothing’s worse than when your life becomes predictable and monotonous. Novelty stirs vitality and reminds the body that life is meant to be lived, not just managed.

This week, try a new recipe you’ve had saved on your phone for months. Take a different route to work. Wear something you wouldn’t normally. Watch how it impacts your day and continue to surprise yourself.

Reconnect with Joy

When’s the last time you belly laughed? Oof, it’s so easy to get bogged down life and what’s happening in the world. This week, let’s reconnect with some authentic joy.

Be around those you enjoy being with. Have them over for dinner or go for a happy hour. Doesn’t have to be a production, just somewhere you’ll find the place for deep belly laughs.

Joy can also be found in quiet moments. Don’t miss them because you’re looking for something else.

Have a Passion

Do you have a hobby? Something you do simply for the joy of it? Did you answer those questions with “no, but I used to“? This week pick one to consider doing again -or- try something that you’ve always wanted to try. Keep it simple and easy.

Did you used to read but think you have no time? Download or pick one up from your library and read one chapter a night. No big deal, right!? When do you small things that you love simply for the joy of it, the passion inside your soul re-awakens. You’ll feel so much better than you have!

Tune in with Nature

Agh, my favorite of the week. Have you ever heard the saying… “if you’re in a bad mood, go outside.” I can attest to the fact that this saying is 100000% accurate. When my kids were little and just in a *moood* all day, we’d go outside and their demeanor would instantly change for the better.

Sure, we’re all human and have off days, but we’re also connected to nature. Today, go for a walk or if you can’t do that, simply sit outside for 5-10 minutes. No phones, bring a coffee or tea with you, and simply watch your surroundings. My favorite is meditating outside – try it for a minute and see how you feel afterward.

This day is also Thanksgiving, so happy thanksgiving to you. Why don’t you go walk outside today? My favorite holidays are spent finding a path and doing it with my kids. That’s what I’ll be doing today. Join me. ❤

Rest Without Guilt

This is a BIGGIE! Do you feel guilty when you rest? Like you should be doing ANYTHING or something else? Why?

As a millennial that grew up in the era of “always be doing something for your college application”, I’m here on the other side telling you that it’s okay to rest. It’s good to rest.

Please don’t feel guilty for taking care of yourself. If you want to sit and wallow, do it. Break out a puzzle, pour something yummy, and take a break from your life for a hot minute. You’ve earned it.

And day 7…. Intentional Movement

While I told you to sit and rest on day 6, today’s about moving intentionally. What does that mean though? This phrase is popular nowadays, but no one seems to define it.

To me, “intentional movement” is doing an activity that feels good on that day at that time. While I try to move everyday, there are somedays my body wants a lighter workout and others it wants me to “go hard”. I do try to sync my movement to my monthly female cycle, but that’s a topic for another day!

Today, do something that makes your body go “yesssss”. Especially after the stress of this holiday week, a light (or heavy) workout would do your body good. No ideas come to your brain? Head to YouTube. My favorites are: Boho Beautiful (Pilates + Yoga), Mad Fit (Cardio + Bloodpumpin), and Brett Larkin Yoga (Somatic + Slow). Honor your body and move with it gently.

As you move through this week, remember to do things for yourself that make you feel amazing. Take care of your body, mind, spirit, and those will bestow rewards upon your life. We often give to others so much that we forget to give ourselves time and energy as well. You’re allowed to do things for yourself… that’s the mantra for this week.

If you’re following along with the Nov-Ember Challenge, you can revisit the last 3 week’s of posts (Relight Your Space, Relight The Season, and Relight Your Mind + Spirit) to continue layering these practices.

If you’re craving a deeper reset, the Simply Tamed Life Workbook pairs beautifully here — guiding you to explore your values, intuition, and purpose with gentle structure.

Thank you for spending Nov-Ember with me and I hope that you found a spark within your soul to continue to feed into. Remember, intentional and simple changes are the path to make your life feel amazing.
