Welcome to December. The month that feels frantic and cozy at the same time. The weather can’t decide what it wants to do. The kids are abuzz with excitement they can’t contain. And, your to-do list is growing by the minute. Am I right?!

December always carries a certain weight. Maybe it’s the earth asking us to turn inward. Maybe it’s the constant refresh of to-dos we never quite finish.
Or maybe it’s the quiet truth that the year is ending, and we’re still trying to catch our breath.
Whatever the reason, this month invites us to slow down. To choose differently. To create space for what actually matters.
This month, I’m focusing on 3 things: Declutter. | Decline. | Design. Simple shifts that soften the season and bring you back to yourself.

Declutter: Create Space
Clutter builds in layers… physical, mental, emotional. And without realizing it, we carry all of it. Start small and give yourself permission to clear what feels heavy.
Decluttering isn’t just about “cleaning up.” It’s about creating space for clarity, intention, and calm.
Consider decluttering in three ways this week:
Physical: tidy one small area each day
Mental/emotional: journal, name what you’re holding, release what you no longer need
Digital: unsubscribe, delete, organize, breathe
This is not about perfection. It’s about space.

Decline: Protect Your Energy
December can pull us in every direction if we let it. Invites, expectations, obligations, noise.
But saying “no” is a quiet act of self-respect. This week, try declining: an event that drains more than it fills, a task that isn’t yours to carry, and the pressure to make *everything* magical.
Declining is not selfish. It’s intentional.
It’s making room for the life you actually want to live.

Design: Curate Your Life Intentionally
Once you clear space and protect your energy, you get to design—slowly, gently—the life that feels like you. Ask yourself:
What brings me joy right now? What rhythms help me feel grounded? What do I want more of? Less of?
Design isn’t about reinventing your life overnight. It’s about choosing the smallest next thing that aligns with who you’re becoming.
Maybe it’s a morning ritual. A slower evening routine. Rearranging a space so it feels calmer, softer, more yours.
December can be a quiet reset if you let it.

This month, you don’t have to do it all.
You don’t have to carry everything.
You don’t have to sprint to the finish line.
You only have to create space – for calm, for joy, and for a life that feels like you.
And if you’re craving a guide to help you move through this season with more intention, my Simply Tamed Life Workbook was created for moments just like this.
It’s a slow-living companion filled with gentle prompts, reflection pages, and curated exercises that help you declutter your mind, reconnect with your values, and design a life that feels aligned. No pressure. No overwhelm. Just simple, steady support for the woman you’re becoming.
Here’s to a gentler December and a beautifully curated life.
